This program has been developed to support safety professionals, supervisors, managers, company-wide leaders, as well as designers and builders, with the necessary tools and knowledge to recognize the common contaminants and hazards of concern and the latest developments in solving issues associated with PALMS (Pandemic/PCBs, Asbestos, Lead/Legionella, Mold/Metals and Silica/Safety/Sustainability).
Learning Objective 1
Attendees will be provided an overview of the subject represented by the acronym P.A.L.M.S. (Pandemic/PCBs, Asbestos, Lead/Legionella, Mold/Metals (heavy), Silica/Safety/Sustainability), as well as its common contamination control.
Learning Objective 2
The similarities and differences between the subject represented by the acronym P.A.L.M.S. (Pandemic/PCBs, Asbestos, Lead/Legionella, Mold/Metals (heavy), Silica/Safety/Sustainability), the hierarchy of controls, in the context of hazard elimination, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE will be discussed.
Learning Objective 3
The industry reports and standards highlights regarding safe working practices will be offered and explained.
Learning Objective 4
The OSHA Hazard Assessment associated with the subject represented by the acronym P.A.L.M.S. (Pandemic/PCBs, Asbestos, Lead/Legionella, Mold/Metals (heavy), Silica/Safety/Sustainability) will be explained. Strategies for protection against PALMS will be discussed.
